ABOUT ME

Ashley Poulin (she/her) is a Canadian actor currently based in Detroit, Michigan. She has studied, competed, and performed in New York City, New Jersey, Los Angeles (Stella Adler Acting Academy), Toronto (Second City Improv), and Scotland. She is currently a senior BFA Acting major and Dean’s Delegate in the CFPCA at Wayne State University, (also pursuing a minor in Musical Theatre and Forensic Investigations and Policing). 

 

Ashley Poulin made her film debut at the age of nine, playing opposite Tom Cavanagh (The Flash) and Fred Willard (Anchorman). She has since appeared in various films and television shows including Boys vs Girls playing opposite Colin Mochrie (Who’s Line is it Anyway?), and Snow (Best Actress nomination UofW Film Festival). She began working in theatre at the age of seven and has since performed in a multitude of productions including Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again. (KCACTF National Winner) and Spamalot (Edinburgh Fringe Festival Winner Best Young Cast). 

 

Ashley is currently the Chair of The Underground Theatre Company in Detroit which acts as an incubator for emerging artists as they work to produce a diverse and important season of shows each year. She has also worked as a Director (Burn This, June July August) and Stage Manager in the Michigan area. Ashley is extremely passionate about arts accessibility and criminal justice. She most recently worked as a Community Engagement and Programming Intern with Detroit Public Theatre’s Shakespeare in Prison signature community program.

When she's not performing, you can find Ashley hanging with her two dogs, Friday and Cocoa, reading a mystery book, or traveling!
